GFWC of NC Statesville Woman’s Club December 2024 Meeting

Last Updated 1/2/2025Posted in News

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of North Carolina (GFWC of NC) Statesville Woman’s Club recently held their December meeting with a Potluck Meal and welcomed special guest entertainer Diana Fox, aka “Miss Eufola,” a mature southern lady with an old-fashioned wit and sense of humor. She shared her insights about living in the south.

The project focus for December, for the second year was collecting unwrapped toys to help children in need in the community for Christmas. These items help make a significant difference in our community by spreading holiday cheer to families in need. These gifts also bring joy to families who have faced financial hardships this past year.

The toys were in turn given to Statesville Police Department (SPD) for their Sixth Annual Toy Drive. SPD Corporal Chan Austin said this year’s toy drive helped around 500 kids from newborn to seventeen years old. Members of SPD played Santa’s elves delivering the toys collected just in time to brighten the children’s faces on Christmas morning.

The next club meeting will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the historic clubhouse located at 515 West End Avenue and there will be a time of Social Fellowship at 5:30 p.m. and Meeting at 6:00 p.m.
