How to Be Heard Without Screaming

Have you ever left a meeting thinking, “That’s not what I meant to say” — or worse, “Why didn’t they get it?” Communication isn’t just about putting information out. It’s about getting your message through.

In this powerful and practical keynote, award-winning communicator Brenda Viola shares the strategies professionals need to speak with clarity, confidence, and impact — especially in high-stakes moments. Drawing from her background as a news anchor, media professional, and communication expert, Brenda reveals what truly makes messages stick.

Whether you're advocating for budget dollars, leading a team, navigating tough questions, speaking on stage, or contributing in a staff meeting, your voice matters — and this session will show you how to use it effectively.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Craft a clear, concise message — and deliver it with purpose
  • Stop “winging it” and start preparing with intention
  • Anticipate pushback and respond without becoming defensive
  • Handle skepticism and scrutiny with professionalism and poise
  • Bridge conversations back to your core message, even when discussions go off track.
  • Ensure your intended takeaway actually lands track

Brenda also shares the power of sound bites (yes, even outside of TV interviews), the importance of preparation, and the often-overlooked “secret to eloquence” that separates confident communicators from overlooked ones.

If you are ready to stop second-guessing your words, start owning your message, and walk into conversations prepared and composed — this keynote will equip you with tools you can use immediately.

Your voice is important. This session will empower you to use it.
