Iredell Health System Named One of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America

Iredell Health System is proud to be recognized as one of the 2023 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America by Healthiest Employers®, an awards program created to honor people-first organizations that prioritize the wellbeing of their employee population. This is the second consecutive year Iredell Health System has been recognized.

The top 100 companies were honored with this prestigious recognition because of their commitment to workplace wellness and their exceptional health and benefits offerings. Each company included on the list participated in the Healthiest Employers application process. The categories, scoring, and benchmarking were formed with the help of a national, non-biased group of representatives from the academic, medical, wellness, and business communities. The Healthiest Employers assessment is scored ‘Rubric style’ on a 1-100 scale. The assessment comprises six categories of yes/no, multiple choice, and short answer questions, with each question totaling .25-3 points.

The six categories are as follows:

- Culture and Leadership Commitment

- Foundational Components

- Strategic Planning

- Communications and Marketing

- Programming and Interventions

- Reporting and Analytics

To qualify for the national award, Iredell Health System was also scored based on an additional section called “the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America,” which scores essays and asks additional questions related to chronic conditions and workplace health.

Iredell Health System understands that in order to provide high-quality care to others, it must first ensure the wellbeing and happiness of its employees. Iredell Health System encourages employee wellbeing through its wellness program, wellbeing and mental health education, and by offering an on-site chaplain to meet with staff when needed.

Earlier this year, Iredell Health System also was recognized in the 2023 Healthiest Employers of Greater Charlotte, placing second among several companies with between 500-1,499 employees.
