Piedmont HealthCare Gains New Pulmonologist, Vishal Patel, MD

August 30, 2022, Statesville, NC– Piedmont HealthCare welcomes Dr. Vishal Patel, MD to Piedmont HealthCare Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine. Dr. Patel joins the practice alongside tenured physicians, Dr. Elnaggar, Dr. Perez, and Dr. Ordaz starting September 6^th.

Dr. Patel is highly skilled in all aspects of the diagnostic and treatment of common and complex pulmonary and critical care diseases,” says Jose’ Perez, MD, President of Piedmont HealthCare Board of Directors.

Dr. Patel completed his undergrad in biomedical sciences at the University of South Florida in Tampa Florida. He then attained his medical training at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Vishal Patel completed his residency at the University of Central Florida/Hospital Corporation of America Graduate Medical Education Consortium Internal Medicine Residency Program where he spent his last year as Chief Medical Resident. Following his Residency, Dr. Patel sought out fellowship training in pulmonology and critical care medicine at Mount Sinai Mornside in New York City where he achieved the status of Chief Fellow.

 “Becoming a Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician has enabled me to care for members of my community at multiple phases of their lives. It’s gratifying to be able to help patients manage how they live with chronic respiratory diseases as well as caring for patients when they are most vulnerable during periods of critical illness,” says Dr. Patel.

Native to Wichita Kansas Dr. Patel and his wife are new to the North Carolina area. In their free time, the Patel family enjoys cooking, traveling, kayaking and astronomy. Dr. Patel is looking forward to becoming a valued member of Piedmont HealthCare and an integral part of this community.
