Iredell Urology Welcomes New Physician

Iredell County, NC – Iredell Health System, in partnership with the Iredell Physician Network, is pleased to announce the opening of a new practice, Iredell Urology. Dominick J. Carbone, Jr., MD, has joined the Iredell Physician Network as the leading physician at the new practice.

At Iredell Urology, Carbone will treat conditions such as kidney, bladder, and prostate cancer, benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), urinary incontinence, urinary tract infection (UTI), kidney stones, erectile dysfunction (ED), and prostatitis.

Carbone has over 27 years of experience in urologic practice in the northwestern part of North Carolina. He has 10 years of experience as a faculty member at Wake Forest University and 16 years of experience at Hugh Chatham Hospital.

Upon their first appointment with Carbone, patients can expect to be greeted by a physician with a compassionate ear and excellent technical skills. He attentively listens to his patients' goals and works together with them to deliver optimal results in a minimally invasive fashion. “My goal is to have a therapeutic alliance with my patients that optimizes their results and reinforces a beneficial doctor-patient relationship,” said Carbone.

Carbone earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania and his fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

 In his free time, Carbone enjoys boating and playing the piano. He has three adult children who all live in North Carolina.

His favorite healthy tip as a urologist is to encourage men to not be apprehensive about scheduling a urology appointment. “We often serve as the entry point into the healthcare system for our male patients. We partner with our patients for both their urologic issues and their overall health,” said Carbone.
