GFWC-NC Statesville Woman's Club honors Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship winner with a “College Shower”

At their May meeting, of the General Federation of Women’s Club of North Carolina (GFWC of NC) Statesville Woman’s Club presented their Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship winner, Natalie Bridgman with a “College Shower.” She is a senior at West Iredell High School and will be attending Wake Forest University in the fall to double major in political science and environmental science. Natalie is the daughter of Cathy and Randy Puda of Statesville. At the shower she was joined by her mother and sister Ashleigh Puda.

Club Past President Linda Lavinder portrayed Sallie Southall Cotten as she gave a brief history of how the scholarship was established.

The club will hold a Spring Rock Painting at the clubhouse on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to paint kindness rocks. For more information contact Club Project Coordinator, Stephanie Gill at 704-657-5008.

The club will hold its next meeting on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the historic clubhouse located at 515 West End Avenue. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments at 11:30 a.m. and meeting will start at 12:00 p.m.
