Find Your Way to Move: National Women’s Health and Fitness Day in Statesville
A healthy routine can start in many ways: a walk with a friend, a class that makes you smile, a game of pickleball, or an afternoon playing outside with your family. National Women’s Health and Fitness Day, September 30, 2026, is a chance to make time for your well-being and discover what you enjoy.
At Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality (REV), there are ways to get moving, try something new, and connect with others throughout the year.
Make time for yourself at The Rec
Join the Statesville Recreation Center and enjoy its fitness and recreation facilities or choose a group fitness class that makes you smile.
With options ranging from Pilates and Zumba to Chair Yoga and Fit Forever, you can find a class that fits your interests and routine.
Childcare services are also available at The Rec, making it easier for parents to set aside time to be active.
Find your game
Whether you’re learning the basics or returning to a sport you love, REV offers opportunities to play. Adult year-round tennis gives you a way to keep practicing and enjoying time on the court. If you’d like to pick up a paddle, explore pickleball, with indoor play at the Statesville Recreation Center and outdoor courts in City parks.
Community Health Fair
Looking for practical ideas and local resources? Join REV for the free Community Health Fair on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Statesville Recreation Center.
Connect with more than 35+ local exhibitors and explore topics including health screenings, healthy eating, women’s health, mental health, wellness, and safety awareness. Bring your questions and discover resources that can support your well-being beyond National Women’s Health and Fitness Day.
Walk, explore, and enjoy the outdoors
You can make movement social with Statesville Walks, a free group walking program in Downtown Statesville. For an outing on your own schedule, explore the Statesville Greenway Trail on foot or by bike.
Bring the family along, too. The City of Statesville’s 20-plus parks and properties offer places to enjoy playgrounds, basketball, walking and biking trails, and more. A park visit can be as simple as a short walk or an afternoon of play together.
Stay connected at every age
Health and wellness also include the people and activities that bring us together. REV’s Community Programs offer opportunities for families, friends, and neighbors to share experiences, learn, and have fun.
For Iredell County residents ages 50 and older, Iredell Senior Games offers competitive and noncompetitive sports, Silver Arts, and a welcoming community. The connection continues beyond the games: the Winter Social on December 5, 2026 will bring participants and newcomers together at the Statesville Event Center for live music and holiday fun.
Get Started
National Women’s Health and Fitness Day is a great day to begin, but the opportunities continue all year. When women and girls have places to move, play, and connect, the benefits reach their families, friends, and neighbors, too. Statesville Recreation & Economic Vitality helps make those opportunities part of everyday community life.
