Join the Statesville Police Department for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and community connection! Bring your family, invite your neighbors, and come spend some time with SPD officers. Attendees will enjoy free food, music, games, community resources, and more!

Winter Youth League Registration (Basketball + Wrestling)

Looking for a great way to keep your child active this winter? Registration is open for Youth Basketball and Youth Wrestling!

These programs give young athletes the chance to learn the game, strengthen their skills, be part of a team, and enjoy a season full of movement and competition.

"Fill the Drum" Battery Take Back Challenge

The Fill the Drum Battery Take Back Challenge continues!

Help the Statesville Fire Department fill its collection drums before Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, 2026, while raising awareness about the danger's lithium-ion batteries can pose when improperly discarded.

Bring your unwanted rechargeable batteries to any Statesville Fire Department location. If it charges, don’t trash it. Recycle it. Learn more about the “Fill the Drum” Battery Recycling Challenge here.

Year-Round Collection: Rechargeable batteries are accepted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fire Station 1, located at 822 Fifth Street.

🔹Firefighter Recruit (Full-Time): This position is responsible for protective service work in fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials, emergency medical, and other emergency services.

🔹Police Officer Recruit (Full-Time): This position is a recruiting and training-level job used for persons hired to learn the duties of a Police Officer with The City of Statesville Police Department. Individuals classified as a police recruit should meet all the essential job functions and qualifications of the police officer role with the exception of Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification. Incumbents in this job class undergo a formal, comprehensive program in BLET. Upon successful completion of BLET, individuals are promoted to a sworn police officer. Failure to graduate from BLET within the prescribed training period will be cause for termination (and may require repayment of BLET costs).
