Crime Prevention Month

The Statesville Police Department is recognizing 2026 Crime Prevention Month with the theme “Crime Prevention Starts with Awareness.”

Throughout October, SPD will share practical information to help residents recognize and reduce risks related to social media harms, fraud and scams, counterfeit products, and firearm safety while encouraging everyone to take an active role in keeping our community safe.

Statesville Public Power is celebrating Public Power Week, October 4-10, 2026, by highlighting the local people, reliable service, and community-focused values behind our public power system. For more than 135 years, our locally owned utility has proudly worked to keep Statesville powered and prepared for the future.

Statesville's Night Out

Statesville’s Night Out, on October 8, 2026, is an annual community event hosted by the Statesville Police Department that brings residents, officers, local organizations, and community partners together for an evening of connection and fun. 

Held in downtown Statesville, the event gives families and neighbors an opportunity to meet SPD officers outside of an emergency setting while enjoying activities, food, community resources, and crime prevention information.

More than just a night out, the event is part of SPD’s ongoing commitment to building relationships, strengthening trust, and creating a safer, more connected Statesville.
