Road Closure and Tree Removal on West End Avenue – October 5, 2026

West End Avenue is tentatively scheduled to be closed between North Meeting Street and Kelly Street on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 8 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. while crews remove a declining tree in Fourth Creek Cemetery.

The mature red maple is in rapid decline, and limbs have begun to fall. Its location near grave markers and overhead utility lines makes removal necessary for public safety. Crews will use specialized equipment and secure the work area before removing the tree.

Drivers can use Meeting Street and West Broad Street to reach West End Avenue via Kelly Street or Mulberry Street. Please use caution in the area and allow extra travel time.
