City Council to Hold Special Meeting on Fourth Creek Wastewater Treatment Capacity
The Statesville City Council will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. to discuss the future capacity needs of the Fourth Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and surrounding sewer shed. McGill Associates will present information regarding current and projected wastewater flows, future development, and potential regulatory changes that could affect the Fourth Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The presentation will include two potential approaches for addressing future wastewater capacity needs:
- Expand the Fourth Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
- Transfer a portion of the Fourth Creek wastewater flow to the Third Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
The two alternatives have different costs, timelines, and long-term considerations. The City Council will have an opportunity to review the information, ask questions, and discuss the options. The meeting is open to the public. The purpose is to provide Council with information and allow for discussion about the City's future wastewater infrastructure needs. No decision is expected from this meeting.
