Emergency Lane Closures for Tree Removal on East Broad Street

Emergency tree removal will require lane closures in the 300 block of East Broad Street this week.

The westbound lane of East Broad Street between Elm Street and Green Street will close at 8 a.m. today, Monday, September 14. This is the lane traveling toward Downtown Statesville. Crews expect to work Monday and Tuesday, with the lane closing at 8 a.m. and reopening at the end of each workday.

A second tree removal is tentatively scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 16, in the eastbound lane of the same block. This is the lane traveling away from Downtown Statesville. The lane will close at 8 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday and reopen at the end of each workday.

Drivers may use Elm Street and Green Street to bypass the work area. Please use caution, follow posted traffic controls and allow additional travel time. The schedule is subject to change depending on the progress of the work.
