Traffic Update: Carolina Avenue Waterline Work

As part of the City of Statesville’s Waterline Project, contractors will complete final waterline work on Carolina Avenue near the DMV office beginning Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, 2026.

A lane shift will be used in the work area, with two-way traffic maintained in all directions. Motorists should expect a modified traffic pattern while work is underway and use caution when traveling through the area.

The lane shift is expected to remain in place as crews complete the waterline work, with paving anticipated on Friday, August 21, 2026.

The schedule is subject to change based on construction conditions. Updates will be provided as needed.

Road Work – Carolina Avenue

As part of the City of Statesville’s Waterline Project, contractors will complete the final waterline tie-in on Carolina Avenue near the DMV office on Thursday, August 20, from approximately 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Carolina Avenue will remain open to traffic; however, one lane will be closed in the work area. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic and help keep vehicles moving through the area.

Motorists should use caution, allow extra time when traveling through the area, and follow the directions of traffic control personnel.

The schedule is subject to change based on construction conditions. Updates will be provided as needed.
