NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK

August 2-8, 2026

WHEREAS, Community Health Centers have provided high-quality, affordable, comprehensive primary and preventive health care for more than 60 years; and

WHEREAS, Community Health Centers serve more than 52 million people in over 17,000 communities nationwide, making them the nation's largest primary care network; and

WHEREAS, Community Health Centers improve the health of their communities by provided integrated services including primary care, behavioral health, dental care, vision services, pharmacy and preventive screenings that help reduce chronic disease and improve health outcomes; and

WHEREAS, Community Health Centers play a critical role in serving rural, suburban, and urban communities, often providing the only source of primary care while responding to public health emergencies, supporting veterans, addressing substance use disorders, and expanding access through school-based health centers and mobile medical units; and

WHEREAS, Community Health Centers are locally governed by patient-majority boards, reflecting the unique needs of the communities they serve while strengthening local economies by creating jobs and generating significant economic activity; and

WHEREAS, National Health Center Week recognizes the dedicated physicians, nurses, dentists, behavioral health professionals, support staff, and community partners whose commitment ensures that quality health care remains accessible to all; and

WHEREAS, the City of Statesville recognizes the contributions of Kinegra Health in promoting a healthier Statesville and improving the quality of life for residents throughout our regiona. 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, J. Douglas Hendrix, Mayor of the City of Statesville do hereby proclaim August 2-8, 2026, as NATIONAL HEALTH CENTER WEEK in the City of Statesville, and encourage all residents to recognize the important role Community Health Centers play in strengthening the health of our community.
