Statesville Water Treatment Plant Earns State Recognition for Eighth Consecutive Year

The City of Statesville Water Treatment Plant has received the 2025 North Carolina Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) Award, marking the eighth consecutive year the facility has earned this recognition for excellence in drinking water treatment.

Presented by the North Carolina Division of Water Resources, the award recognizes water treatment facilities that exceed state and federal drinking water standards. Award recipients demonstrate exceptional performance in removing turbidity, a measure of particles that can affect water clarity and quality.

Statesville was among 66 water treatment plants across North Carolina recognized for their performance in 2025.

This continued recognition reflects the dedication of the City's Water Treatment Plant staff and their commitment to providing safe, high-quality drinking water to the Statesville community.
