Join us for the Balloon Chasers 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run – an exciting event that offers both a thrilling run and a day filled with festival activities!

Celebrating its 49th year, Carolina Balloonfest promises an unforgettable experience.

The flat and fast course starts and ends at the terminal of the Statesville Regional Airport, providing a unique opportunity to run on the airport runway while enjoying spectacular views of hot air balloons launching and in flight (weather conditions permitting). The 5K is chip-timed, and each participant will receive a medal if registered by September 1, 2024. When you register receive a complimentary one-day pass to the festival ($20 value) along with on-site parking for the first 100 runners.. 

Age Group Awards will be presented to the top male and female in each category: 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Additionally, all 1 Mile Fun Run participants will receive a finishers medal.
