Balloon Chasers 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run!

Come early for the run and stay late! Stick around after the race and enjoy the festival activities! This year Carolina Balloonfest celebrates 47 years! To learn more about the Carolina Balloonfest visit: http://www.carolinaballoonfest.com

Registration includes a one day pass to the Carolina Balloonfest ($20 value) and on site parking.

COURSE

This course is flat and fast! 

The race starts and ends at the terminal of the Statesville Regional Airport! 

A unique opportunity to run a 5k on the airport runway all while viewing magnificent colored hot air balloons launching and in flight!

(Permitting weather conditions)

The 5K will be chip timed.

5K RACE HAT!

We have the coolest hat for each 5k participant.  Sign up deadline to receive a hat is September 1, 2022.  There may be extras for sale at $20.00 or you can pre-order an extra hat.

1 Overall Male, 1 Overall Female

Age Group Awards will be given to the top male and top female in each age category:

• 1 - 14
  
• 15 - 19
• 20 - 29
• 30 - 39
• 40 - 49
• 50 - 59
• 60+

A finishers medal will be given to all 1 mile fun run participants. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Don't want to run or walk the 5K/Fun Run?  We are looking for volunteers to help us on race day to make this a great event!
