Piedmont HealthCare Welcomes Shawn Walls, DO to Davie Internal Medicine

February 27, 2023 (Statesville, NC) - Piedmont HealthCare welcomes Dr. Shawn Walls to PHC Davie Internal Medicine in Statesville. Dr. Walls joins the practice alongside Dr. Tania Acevedo, MD, Tanya Maxwell, DNP, Ishmael Hayfron, DNP, and Dinah Anukwuem, FNP.

 “I chose to work at Davie Internal Medicine because the patients reminded me of home,” says Dr. Walls. Born and raised in a small town in West Virginia, Dr. Walls combined his interest in science and helping others to pursue the medical field.  “I have spent the last several years working in a hospital and am looking to move into a more outpatient setting to better establish long-lasting and impactful relationships with my patients.”

As a West Virginia native, Dr. Walls attended Marshall University, in Huntington, West Virginia for his undergraduate degree. Dr. Walls then went on to receive his medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Following medical school, Dr. Walls completed his residency in Osteopathic Internal Medicine at the University Hospital Richmond/Bedford Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio.

“I like to focus on preventative care with my patients,” says Dr. Shawn Walls. “The best care starts with the patient. The patients need to be fully involved in their care otherwise it is not going to work.”

Dr. Walls is a father of two boys and a Goldendoodle named Louie. The Walls family enjoys playing and watching soccer and basketball in their spare time.
