Piedmont HealthCare Gains New Endocrinologist in Mooresville

Piedmont HealthCare welcomes Dr. Elaine Sunderlin, MD to Piedmont HealthCare. Dr. Sunderlin is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism and will be based out of her Mooresville, NC office at 170 Medical Park Rd.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Sunderlin has been living in the Carolinas for the past 13 years. Dr. Sunderlin completed her undergraduate education at James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. After medical school, Dr. Sunderlin completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of North Carolina, followed by her fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at UNC as well.

Dr. Sunderlin joins PHC after practicing In South Carolina for the past 8 years. "“I have always been drawn to endocrinology because at its roots, it is physiology…how the body works," said Dr. Sunderlin. "Coming from a hospital-owned practice, PHC was attractive as a work environment as it is a physician-owned practice."
