Iredell County to host National EMS Memorial Bike Ride Honoree Ceremony May 6
STATESVILLE, NC — Iredell County will honor fallen Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers during a special National EMS Memorial Bike Ride Honoree Ceremony on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Iredell Public Safety Complex, located at 404 Bristol Drive in Statesville. The event will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to include local public safety representation, as well as a contingent of national EMS riders participating in the week-long memorial ride.

The ceremony will recognize 110 EMS providers from across the country who have died in the line of duty or as a result of their service. This stop in Iredell County is part of a national effort to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives and contributions of EMS professionals.
Eric Morrison, Iredell County EMS director and a board member of the National EMS Memorial Bike Ride, will be among the riders completing the full week’s journey. “This is a powerful tribute to the sacrifices made by EMS providers,” Morrison shared. “It’s an honor for Iredell County to serve as a host for this important moment of remembrance.”
While the ceremony is not open to the general public due to space limitations, members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event.
