Iredell Health System to Host Lacing Up for a Cure 5K

Last Updated 7/30/2024Posted in News

Get ready to lace up for a cure on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Statesville Family YMCA!

The Lacing Up for a Cure 5k, hosted by Iredell Health System, was created to raise community awareness and funds for breast cancer prevention, treatment, and recovery. All proceeds will benefit patients battling cancer in our community through the Cancer Patient Support Fund of the Iredell Health Foundation, the health system’s philanthropic arm. This fund assists anyone receiving active cancer treatment that needs help with transportation, lodging, support group activities, and discretionary support.

The event will begin promptly at 9am at the Statesville Family YMCA with age groups ranging from children to seniors. Medals will be awarded for overall men and women 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers as well as each age group. Age groups will be in five-year increments unless otherwise stated.

Registration is now active and will remain open until Thursday, October 3, 2024. Registering by September 11, 2024, guarantees a race t-shirt. Can’t attend in person? Virtual participation is available.

Sponsorship opportunities are available with options from $30-$3,000. A $3,000 sponsorship includes a donation to the Iredell County school of your choice, 10 runner registrations, logos promptly displayed in all event advertising, and the opportunity to include items in race goody bags.
