Iredell Health System has recently named Xavier Townsend as the new Director of Environmental Services (EVS), effective July 1.

Townsend previously held the Assistant Director of EVS role at Iredell and is a contracted employee through Crothall Healthcare. In his new role, Townsend will oversee all aspects of housekeeping operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness. He will spearhead initiatives to enhance patient and customer satisfaction.

“Xavier has been a dedicated and invaluable team member,” said Larry Pizzorni, Assistant Vice President of Ancillary and Support Services at Iredell Health System. “His extensive knowledge, exceptional skills, and unwavering commitment to our patients, staff, and visitors have greatly contributed to our organization’s success.”

Townsend earned his associate degree in chemistry and his bachelor’s degree in education, combining his passion for science with his commitment to fostering learning and development.

“I have made North Carolina my home and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to be a part of the legacy of Iredell Heath System,” said Townsend.

Before his career in operations management, Townsend served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps. During his service, he was part of the infantry and participated in Operation Desert Storm, demonstrating courage, resilience, and a strong commitment to his country. Beyond his professional life, Townsend is a devoted father to two sons, both of whom are currently pursuing their college educations. He takes great pride in their academic achievements and supports their aspirations.

In his personal time, Townsend is a health enthusiast and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking and mountain biking. He is also a regular attendee at ComiCon conventions, where he indulges in his interest in pop culture and science fiction. Additionally, Townsend has a passion for exotic pets, finding joy in caring for and learning about these unique animals.

Iredell Health System is confident in Townsend’s leadership in driving the success of the EVS department.
