Downtown Statesville Development Corporation Celebrates 17 New Businesses At Annual Meeting

Downtown Statesville Development Corporation (DSDC) held its Annual Meeting on June 19 at the Statesville Civic Center located at 300 S. Center Street in Downtown Statesville. The following officers were approved for 2024-2025: Doug Hendrix as Chairman, Jennifer Grant of Stantec Consulting as Secretary, Joshua Speer of Norris, Stewart & Ralston as Treasurer and Trey Robertson of Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing LLC as the Chairman Elect.

Three new Board Members were elected to three-year terms. They included Amy Sullivan of Amy Sullivan Fine Art, Hannah Scott of Mitchell Community College, and Tanisha Schoolfield of Creations by TYS. The Board also approved a second term for existing members Donald Hicks, Jr. of Statesville Housing Authority and Jennifer Grant of Stantec Consulting.

Chairman Doug Hendrix presided over the meeting which highlighted and recognized achievements of the previous year. The meeting featured Liz Parham, Director of the NC Main Street & Rural Planning Center for the NC Department of Commerce.

17 new businesses were recognized for their investment and contribution to the economic vitality of Downtown Statesville. The new businesses from the past year are as follows:

  • Krazy Ice – 239 E. Front St. (Sharon Skinner)
  • Lakeside Wellness Solutions – 113 S. Center St., Ste. 103 (Cassandra Santus)
  • Native Ceuticals Apothecary – 118A W. Broad St. (Daniella & Steve Brown)
  • Sabores Latin Cuisine – 226 W. Broad St.
  • Simply Caring – 117 N. Center St.
  • The Gondolier – 212 S. Center St., Ste. 101 (Gene Konczal)
  • The Mercantile on Broad – 108 W. Broad St. (Tori Sexton)
  • The Quarter – 125 Landmark Alley, Ste. 101 (Jason Cole & Andrea Chadwick)
  • The Wallace on Broad – 230 W. Broad St. (Jordan Young)
  • Tru Nutrition – 223 N. Center St. (Sarah Guerrero)
