Air Force veteran Matt Kosto and his family in Vail, Arizona, experienced a life-changing home renovation thanks to the television show Military Makeover with Montel Williams, supported by Purple Heart Homes and nearly 100 dedicated community volunteers. After losing part of his leg in a motorcycle accident and facing his wife Virginia’s battle with stage 4 cancer, the family struggled with home repair and accessibility challenges. Although Matt began some repairs on his own, the costs soon became overwhelming. Purple Heart Homes stepped in to provide crucial support, helping transform their home with a full roof replacement, new concrete floors, a remodeled bathroom, landscaping, and more. Generous donations from local businesses and volunteers made the renovation possible. The Kosto family’s inspiring story of resilience and community support will be featured in the season 42 premiere airing in May.
