Purple Heart Homes Expands Modular Home Program for Veterans Into Virginia
Article by Rebecca Barnabi, originally published on February 28, 2025
Purple Heart Homes is expanding its modular Veteran Tiny Homes program into Virginia, building these homes at its North Carolina manufacturing facility to help veterans facing homelessness and housing insecurity. These homes are constructed like traditional stick-built houses on permanent block foundations, giving veterans a strong sense of pride and ownership. This expansion responds to numerous applications from veterans in Virginia seeking safe and stable housing and is made possible through the generous support of The Home Depot Foundation. Since 2016, Purple Heart Homes has served 44 veterans and their families in Virginia through its Aging in Place Program, investing over $365,000 to improve home safety and accessibility.
