Seven Days on the Tower

There’s a man named Scott Burns

There’s a man named Scott Burns
from a small American town,
who raised his hand to serve
when the flag was passed around.

Injured in training,
his road turned before it began.
but he never stopped being a stand-up man.

he chose not to walk alone.

Some battles don’t wear uniforms,
some wars stay close to home.
When the boots came off
and the quiet settled in,
he chose not to walk alone.

He stands for ramps and doorways,

So he built a tower of steel and faith
in the middle of everyday ground,
and climbed where people could see him,
so the forgotten wouldn’t feel unseen,
so the broken wouldn’t feel alone.

Seven days in the heat,
seven nights in the cold,
seven chances to remind us
what honor looks like
when the story gets old.

He stands for ramps and doorways,
for homes rebuilt with care,
for children waking up to Christmas,
for families finding hope
when they thought none was there.

because someone once stood for him, and he refuses to let that die.

People drive by and look up,
slow down, ask why.
The answer’s simple and heavy:
because someone once stood for him, and he refuses to let that die.

2026 marks twenty
twenty years of climbing back up,
twenty years of saying freedom
is something you carry,
not something you give up.

He says, “I’m no hero.”

He says, “I’m no hero.”
But heroes don’t always wear crowns or capes.
Sometimes they just keep showing up,
keep standing tall,
keep holding the line when quitting would be easier.

Look up.

So if you ever wonder
what love for this country looks like,
don’t just look at a flag or a speech or a song.

Look up.
You’ll see Scott Burns
7 days on a tower,
twenty years strong
standing for those
who stood for us all.
