Purple Heart Homes was founded by two Iraq War veterans with a simple goal to ensure no veteran is left behind, especially when it comes to living safely at home. Supported by partners like Lowe’s, the nonprofit has completed more than 600 projects focused on improving safety and accessibility for service-disabled veterans. One recent project helped 94-year-old Navy veteran Paul Hartman by building a new ramp and deck, allowing him to age in place comfortably and securely. Purple Heart Homes’ work shows that veterans’ service deserves more than just gratitude; it deserves real, lasting support.
