Veterans Group Honors Danbury’s Abbott Tech Students for Charity Work on 96-Year-Old Man’s Home

Students from Abbott Technical High School in Danbury are being honored for their volunteer work on the home of 96-year-old WWII veteran Lou Russo. Purple Heart Homes, the veterans' nonprofit coordinating the renovation, organized the celebration to recognize the students’ help installing a new heating system. This project reflects the organization’s mission to improve living conditions for older and disabled veterans. It also shows how young people in the community can make a lasting impact by giving back.
