It's Mission Complete for Second South Euclid Purple Heart Homes Dwelling
Article by Jeff Piorkowski, originally published December 19, 2015, on cleveland.com
In South Euclid, Ohio, the community gathered at St. John’s Lutheran Church to celebrate the completion of the city’s second Purple Heart Homes project. This achievement makes South Euclid the only city in the U.S. with two homes built through the program, with a third already in progress. The newest recipient is Corporal Leo Robinson, a Marine veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and lives with traumatic brain injuries. Thanks to the dedication of local volunteers, trade unions, and Notre Dame College athletes, a once-neglected property was transformed into a safe and welcoming home for Robinson, his girlfriend, and their service dog.
