2025 City Holiday Closings and Revised Sanitation Schedules

Independence Day: Friday July 4, 2025

In observance of Independence Day, all City of Statesville offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025. Below is important information regarding city service adjustments and facility hours during the holiday week.

Sanitation Schedule Adjustments – Week of June 30 – July 4

• Residential Routes: Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, July 3. All other routes will be collected on the regularly scheduled day.
• Commercial Garbage Collection (roll-out toters or garbage containers): Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, July 3. All other routes will be collected on the regularly scheduled day.

Facility Hours on July 4

• The Statesville Fitness & Activity Center and Statesville Civic Center will be closed.
• The Statesville Leisure Pool, Bentley Community Center, and Splash Pad will be open. Please visit www.statesvillenc.net/aquatics for information regarding admission and hours of operation.

Statesville ABC Store

• The Statesville ABC Store will be open on July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

City Council Meeting

• The City Council will hold one regular meeting in July on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting will include a public comment session.

Labor Day: Monday September 01, 2025

City offices will be closed on Monday, September 01, 2025 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

1)    Residential Routes:

a)    Monday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

b)    Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected on Wednesday.

c)     Thursday & Friday routes will operate on their regular schedule.

2)    Commercial Businesses with roll-out toters or garbage containers:

a)    Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

b)     Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday routes will operate on their regular schedule.

Veterans Day: Tuesday November 11, 2025

City offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.

1)    Residential Routes:

a)    Monday routes will be picked up on collected on their regular schedule.

b)    Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected Wednesday.

c)     Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on their regular schedule.

2)    Commercial Businesses with roll-out toters or garbage containers:

a)    Monday routes will be picked up on collected on their regular schedule.

b)    Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected Wednesday.

c)     Thursday and Friday’s and Saturday routes will be collected on their regular schedule.

Thanksgiving: Thursday & Friday November 27 and 28, 2025

City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2025, and Friday, November 28, 2025 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

1)    Residential Routes:

a)     Monday routes will operate on regular schedule.

b)     Tuesday and Wednesday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

c)     Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Wednesday.

2)    Commercial Businesses with roll-out toters or garbage containers:

a)    Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Monday.

b)    Wednesday and Thursday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

c)     Friday routes will be collected on Wednesday.

d)    Saturday routes will operate on their regular schedule.

Christmas: Wednesday & Thursday- December 24 and 25, 2025

City offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, and Thursday, December 25, 2025, in observance of the Christmas holiday.

1)    Residential Routes:

a)    Monday routes will be collected on its regular day.

b)    Tuesday & Wednesday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

c)     Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Friday.

2)    Commercial Businesses with roll-out toters or garbage containers:

a)    Monday and Tuesday routes will be collected on Monday.

b)    Wednesday & Thursday routes will be collected on Tuesday.

c)     Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Friday.

d)     Saturday’s route will be on regular schedule.

New Year's Day: Wednesday, January 01, 2025

City offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in recognition of New Year’s Day. The Statesville Fitness and Activity Center and Bentley Community Center will operate regular hours on Tuesday, December 31, and will be closed on Wednesday, January 1.

Revised Residential Garbage and Recycling Collection

• Monday’s routes will be collected on the regular schedule.

• Tuesday and Wednesday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.

• Thursday and Friday’s routes will be collected on the regular schedule.

Revised Commercial Roll-Out Container Collection:

• Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.

• Tuesday and Wednesday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.

• Thursday, Friday, and Saturday’s routes will be collected on the regular schedule.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Monday January 20, 2025

City of Statesville offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Please note that there will be no garbage collection on this day.

Revised Residential Sanitation Schedule (January 20-24):

• Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.
• Tuesday's routes will be collected on Wednesday.
• Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s routes will remain on their regular schedule.

Revised Commercial Sanitation Schedule (January 20-24):

For businesses with roll-out carts or garbage containers:

• Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.
• Tuesday through Saturday’s routes will remain on their regular schedule.

Additionally, the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center and Bentley Community Center will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Good Friday: Friday, April 18, 2025

City of Statesville offices will be closed on Friday, April 18, 2025, in observance of Good Friday. Please note that there will be no garbage collection on this day.

Revised Residential Sanitation Schedule (April 14-18)

• Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday routes will operate on their regular schedule.
• Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, April 17.

Revised Commercial Sanitation Schedule (April 14-18)

For businesses with roll-out carts or garbage containers:

• Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday routes will operate on their regular schedule.
• Thursday and Friday routes will be collected on Thursday, April 17.
• Saturday routes will operate on their regular schedule.

Additionally, the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center and Bentley Community Center will be closed on Friday, April 18.

Memorial Day: Monday May 26, 2025

City of Statesville offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, 2025 in observance of Memorial Day. There will be no garbage collection on this day.

Revised schedule for residential sanitation routes for the week of May 26 – May 30:

• Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.
• Tuesday and Wednesday's routes will be collected on Wednesday.
• Thursday and Friday’s routes will operate on the regular schedule.

Revised schedule for commercial businesses with roll-out carts or garbage containers for the week of May 26 – May 31:

• Monday and Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.
• Wednesday – Saturday’s routes will operate on the regular schedule.

The Statesville Fitness & Activity Center will be closed on Memorial Day.

Juneteenth: Thursday June 19, 2025

In observance of Juneteenth, all City of Statesville offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025. There will be no residential or commercial garbage collection on this day.

Sanitation Schedule Adjustments for the Week of June 16–20:

• Residential Routes: Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday, June 20. All other residential routes will follow their regular schedule.
• Commercial Routes (for roll-out carts and garbage containers): Thursday’s routes will be collected on Friday, June 20. All other commercial routes will run as usual.

Facility Hours:

• The Statesville Fitness & Activity Center will be closed on Juneteenth.
