“This new apparatus strengthens our ability to respond to hazardous materials emergencies with greater efficiency and safety,” said Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Bell. “With the increasing complexity of these incidents, this vehicle equips our team with the tools needed to mitigate risks and safeguard our community.”
Key features of the new Hazardous Materials Response Apparatus include:

Earlier this year, the City approved the purchase of a used apparatus to serve as the department’s new Hazardous Materials Response unit. After undergoing repairs and refurbishments, the vehicle was prepared for service. Last week, personnel worked diligently to transfer equipment from the previous unit to the newly outfitted apparatus.
The Statesville Fire Department extends its appreciation to everyone involved in acquiring and placing this important vehicle into service.
The department remains committed to protecting Statesville’s residents, businesses, and environment through continuous training, modern equipment, and strong community engagement.
