Our Habits, Our Health: How Can We Leverage Behaviors to Improve Wellness
Presentation by Amanda Downs
Amanda Downs is a registered dietitian with more than 13 years’ experience in clinical inpatient and outpatient settings, with a special interest in bariatric surgery and adult weight management. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, Health and Sports Studies from Miami University in Oxford, OH; a Masters in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH; and completed a Dietetic internship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. She currently works for Iredell Health System at the Iredell Diabetes and Wellness Center, where she assists with a diabetes self-management training program and sees patients individually for medical nutrition therapy. She enjoys serving the community and the Health System’s corporate clients through lunch and learns, health fairs, and nutrition presentations.
The mission of the Iredell Health Forum is to serve as a catalyst to develop, nurture, and empower an effective continuum of care for citizens of Iredell County. We are professionals committed to improving the quality of life for Iredell County citizens by facilitating a cohesive system of care to address the well-being of our citizens from birth to the end of life. The group is open to anyone that is responsible for meeting the health and well-being needs of Iredell citizens. Professional in the medical, social work, case management, health, community services and allied fields are welcome to join our group.
