NAACP - Statesville Branch Launches Student Video Essay Contest

Middle school students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades can enter to win this essay on landmarks & African American culture award. All entries must highlight a monumental landmark (building, body of water, street…) of Statesville, NC. To participate in this contest all video entries must be independently produced and edited for a social media platform. Each submission must be authentic and an original video created for this video essay contest. Landmarks must be of African American significance or relate to African American contributions to American culture.

Winners and distinguished contest participants will be recognized at the awards ceremony honoring Statesville’s African American history and Black History Month. February 12, 2022, at 11AM, at a local location to be announced.
