Melissa Cruz, is the General Manager of the Candlewood Suites in Mooresville, NC. She is a sophisticated and proficient leader in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. For more than 13 years this proven leader has had the pleasure of working for hotel chains such as Marriott and Intercontinental Hotels Group. As a focused and driven leader, she oversees the day to day operations in and around the hotel. Sandra Bortree has been a member of the Chamber since moving to Statesville with her husband, Paul, in 2000. Sandra has been active in Ambassadors throughout that time, being elected Ambassador of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2010. Additionally, she has served two terms on the Chamber board and has chaired a Chamber Leads group for many years.
Sandra has also been President of Habitat Board of Iredell County and involved in a number of other organizations.
She has been a Loan Officer for over 25 years helping clients with all their financing needs in North Carolina and Virginia. NorthSide handles all types of loan programs including 100% USDA purchase along with conventional, FHA and VA.
In her spare time, she loves to scuba dive, work in the garden, and travel with Paul.

Kristi Madison Pfeufer’s family business has been a member of the Chamber since their establishment in 1985. Kristi is active with the Chamber Ambassadors and with other Chamber activities.
Kristi has been a Realtor for over 18 years in Statesville. Serving her clients professionally has always been her top priority. She has served on the Board of the Charlotte Region Realtor Association, Iredell County Planning & Zoning Board, and was honored by her colleagues with Iredell County Realtor of the Year in 2004. She is now the Broker in Charge of Doug Madison Realty where she continues to market and sell “The American Dream” and works side-by-side with her brothers, Matt and Jon, to continue the family business.
In her spare time, she loves to travel, camp, fish and spend time with her wonderful husband, Jude.

Anne Thornton Ellenburg has been a member of the Chamber since 1989. Anne has been a part of the Ambassadors for many years and a part of the President’s Club prior to that. Additionally, she has served on the Chamber board as the Membership Chairman. Anne is a Past President of the Iredell Human Resource Association, Board Member of the Iredell County Partnership for Young Children, and regularly volunteers for the March of Dimes and United Way. Anne is also active in the Greater Statesville Rotary Club. She has been with Kelly Services for 23 years providing employment solutions to Iredell County and western North Carolina. In her spare time, she loves the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren, Mason and Madison.

Fawn Combs has been a member of the Statesville Chamber of Commerce since she entered the real estate profession in 2007. She has enjoyed her time as an Ambassador and has found it a great way to get to know the many members of the Chamber.
Fawn has lived in Statesville for 28 years and raised two children here. She and her husband, Kevin, are active in the community, participating in Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity, and other community organizations.

Janie Stikeleather, a life-long resident of Statesville, is the Marketing & Public Relations Director with Davis Regional Medical Center. In that role, she directs all advertising and community relations for the hospital and affiliated physician practices.
Very active in the community, she has served for a number of years on The American Heart Association’s annual Heart Ball Committee. In addition, she has been involved with March of Dimes for 20+ years, serving as past chair of the Western Carolina Division, Public Affairs Committee Chair, and member of March of Dimes state board.
A long-time chamber ambassador, she was named Ambassador of the Year in 2004. She has served the chamber as chair of the Ambassador group and chair of Business After Hours committee.
Janie noted “As a volunteer with the Chamber, I have had the pleasure of welcoming newcomers and businesses to our area. Not only has my chamber involvement helped strengthen and build relationships with these groups, it has allowed me to interact and build friendships with many wonderful people throughout our community.”
Janie and her husband Frank have two children and they reside in the northern part of the county. She is a member of Concord Presbyterian where she is a former Elder, Youth Leader, and teacher.

Kelley Daspit, APR (Accredited in Public Relations) moved to Iredell County in 2006 to accept her current position with Iredell Health System as Director of Planning and Community Relations. Prior to working at Iredell Memorial Hospital, she worked in both independent and corporate health system settings.
Daspit’s public relations work experience includes entertainment, higher education, retail, hospitality and health care. Daspit has 22 years of experience with 14 collective years as a leader in health care public relations and marketing.
She is a national member of the executive committee for the Health Academy, a section of the Public Relations Society of America.
Daspit’s involvement with the Statesville Chamber includes graduating from Leadership Statesville in 2007 and serving on the Leadership Statesville board in 2008 and 2009. In 2010, she volunteered as a dancer for Dancing with the Iredell Stars. She has been an ambassador for the Statesville Chamber for two years and currently serves on the chamber’s small business brainstorming team.
She is the current chair of the Business Resource Group, a leads group for the Mooresville South Iredell Chamber of Commerce (MSIC). She is on the executive board for the MSIC and vice chair of marketing for the group. She is a member of the Executive Women of Lake Norman, the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society, the Charlotte PRSA Chapter and PRSA International.
Daspit earned her masters of art degree in Communications from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. She earned her bachelors degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in public relations from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Daspit and her husband Paul have two teenagers, Stephen and Jordan, who attend South Iredell High School.
Marsha is a world champion gas balloon pilot, an award winning commercial hot air balloon pilot and a certified flight instructor who earned her pilot’s license in 1984. Her husband Randy is director of operations.
Over the years Marsha has flown balloons 26 of the 50 states, including Hawaii and organized and participated in numerous hot air balloon festivals around the world. In 1996 she performed a trans-Canada tour flying the Bugle Boy special shaped balloon, has flown in Mexico as well as many European countries. In 1993 and 1995 Marsha, as pilot of the Cadillac hot air balloon, was a guest of the Forbes family at their balloon festival held at Chateau de Balleroy, Normandy, France
She served six years as Southeast Regional Director for the Balloon Federation of America (BFA) Board of Directors, three of those years as Vice President. She has also served on the Gas Balloon Division Board of Directors and acted as the National Aeronautic Association liaison for the BFA from 1994-1997. Marsha received the BFA President’s award at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in 1997 for her service to the organization.
Locally, Marsha served as Executive Director of the Carolina BalloonFest working with the National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc. to revive Statesville’s Hot Air Balloon Festival and move it back to the Statesville Regional Airport.
Recent corporate balloon programs for Marsha and Randy include working for the NFL flying two balloons at Super Bowl XLII in Phoenix, AZ, and again at Super Bowl XLV in North Texas. Another recent project for Warner Home Video included a 12- city tour with the 70th Anniversary Wizard of OZ Hot Air Balloon, and regionally they fly for the Carolinas Ford Dealers.
I have lived in Statesville since 1986. I have been an active Ambassador with the Chamber since 2004. My personal hobbies include Golf, Fishing, Karaoke and studying American History.

Jeanne is a long time resident of Iredell County NC. She has been heavily involved in the chamber and other community organizations in Statesville for the last 5+ years. Mrs. Massey is the chairperson for the Goodwill Business Advisory Council as well as a Board Member for Carolina Balloonfest. She is very active in the community volunteering for Iredell Christian ministries and other non-profit groups. Mrs. Massey has been at United Federal Credit Union for almost 6 years. During that time she has been able to help out many local non-profit groups with volunteers from her office and donations from UFCU’s charity committee. Over the last 5 years, donations have reached almost $13,000 for agencies like the Boys and Girls Club, The United Way, Relay for Life, Iredell Christian Ministries, Yokefellow Ministries and The March of Dimes of the Piedmont. Jeanne enjoys helping out her local community and in her spare time, she is raising 4 children ages 10-16 years of age. Her family likes to hike, bike and do volunteer work together.

Personally I am a mother, volleyball coach, and an amateur farmer. I love this area for its endless outdoor activities and warm hospitable people.
